Sargento VoxBox by influenster

Like many of you may know, I have joined onto the Influenster gang. Influenster allows you to try out a variety of products based on my interest and lifestyle [Student, child educator, who is into nature, technology and beauty products ;) ] . I am in no way paid to write this review, and I am giving an honest review based on my own opinions.

This month I was given the opportunity to review Sargento Ultra Thin Cheese, along with the cheese I was given an adorable neoprene lunch tote to take in my lunch to class with me. I have tried and have been a fan of the company ever since they have come out with their real cheese sticks that have included cheddar and jack cheese.

Sargento provided me a coupon to pick up my own flavor cheese at my local grocery store.

I went ahead and picked up a Sharp Cheddar cheese.

Like the title mentions, the slices are in fact ultra thin. I loved it. The cheese slices seemed fresh and moist.

That night I went ahead and made grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese melted nicely and made for a yummy sandwich.

That night I packed a lunch for school. I made a turkey wrap using sargento ultra thin cheese. It had:
- Spinach & Herb Tortilla
- Fresh cut up Romain Lettuce
- Fresh cut up tomatoes
- fresh cracked pepper
- deli sliced turkey
- dash of mustard

Finally
- Sargento Ultra Thin Cheese

I must say it was a delicious wrap, and the lunch sack kept my lunch cool. I got tons of complements on my lunch that day from the sack I had to the wrap I was eating. Ironically my friend packed a similar lunch the next day.

In the end I would recommend Sargento Ultra Thin. It was a great product and I want to try more of their thin cheeses in the future.

Sally Hansen Vox Box

Sally Hansen Vox Box

As some of you may remember, in October I did a personal review of a colgate product. I was granted this opportunity through a company called Influenster. I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. I am in no way paid money for my review, and products are all based off of my lifestyle or interests.

This month I was given one of my favorite beauty products. Nail polish has been my ablostule favorite thing since I was a little girl. My mother hated the smell, and requested that I paint my nails in my room or outside. However the appeal of painting my nails inside was always the best.. I’ve since learned better.
Ironically now nail polish is one of my favorite smells.  I find it comforting when I walk into a nail salon, that it’s almost relaxing.

With that all said, Influentster sent me The Sally Hansen Total Knock Out VoxBox.

It included three different nail polishes. I was so excited to see one of my favorite colors inside. A deep dark purple.
Colors Included (From Left to Right): Pat on the Black,  Red My Lips, Jaded

To fully test out this nail polish I wanted to go through my typical manicure routine and share it with you.

To start out, I file my nails. I like a high grit nail file to even out my entire nail.

Next I use this mini cuticle clipper, to remove stray hang nails. (It’s from Opi, my Best friend Danielle got it for my for my birthday)

Finally I wash my hands (not pictured), and swab over with alcohol. The alcohol helps remove any extra debris or oils from your fingers that your soap could have left behind.

I used the deep Purple color called. 510 Pat On The Black.

I did about two and a half coats on each nail. However I did one single coat the first round and a second coat as followed. I touched up areas when needed.

I will fully admit, I'm not a perfect manicurist.. I make mistakes. I will go over with nail polish remover on the "extra polished areas" of my fingers when my nails are completely dry.

Finally I ended it all with a quick dry drops to ensure quick drying…

In my opinion: Compared to my other common nail polishes that I frequently use. This nail polish was comparable, for a “Salon Manicure”.

The only thing I felt it was lacking was thickness, todays nail polishes are made to last longer than the typical manicure. Like a shellac manicure.
However in a pinch, I would totally use it. For example, if I had a girls weekend away and we wanted to paint our nails. I would choose to buy this prodcut. The colors have great pigments for the dark colors. However I would have like to see a bit deeper pigments in the green and red polish colors.

If I was to rate it from 1 to 10.

1 being, may want to regift this to a friend. 10 being, but it tomorrow.

I would rate it a 7. Great product high quality. 3 days later my color has lasted on my nails however in certain places it did chip. Overall a great product I will recommend to friends.

A new personal update!

Hanna Marie Update!

As friends and family might be aware. I am in my fourth semester at Sac State. Which means I am graduating this semester! Very exciting and very nervous all at the same time.

However very comforting right now having my child development cohorts along side me that are going to be graduating with me. We are all so pumped. As of today in this post only 113 days until graduation!

In other news since I’m finished with all of my required courses for my degree, I’m taking some life classes to finish my upper division requirement. Like a Personal finance class to get me ready for the “real world”. As well as gender roles and stereotyping, the history of sex population and birth control.

I’ve recently started a new position as a paid intern with head start, an opportunity through Sac State. I’ve loved every minute of it. Learning new teaching skills, interacting with a different community atmosphere, and building a new sense of compassion. It has been such a blessing that I’m so grateful for.

A little update about me, I’m excited to share more in the future.

Colgate SlimSoft VoxBox

I know I have not posted in awhile.. But I wanted to share with you all about this team I have joined, called influenster.. It's a great team who has chosen me to test out new products FREE of charge, and I am in no way paid to give this survey, and I only am giving this review to share with you about these great products!.. It's incredible the stuff they give you to try..

Last month I was given the opportunity to try the Colgate SlimSoft VoxBox. I loved the new tooth brush, Colgate whitening toothpaste, and Colgate advanced pro-shield blast mouth wash. Tonight was like a 'Facial' for my mouth. My mouth feels fresh and new, and not to mention winter fresh.

I would highly recommend for you to try, I felt like I had a cleaning from my dentist..

I have this illustration/analogy that I've used a lot this year. It comes originally from the saying, is the cup half full or half empty.

The term is, What is filling your cup? Or What is emptying your cup? However a friend of mine described it as my love cup, when I was talking about a boy.

When I was talking about a boy one time, I mentioned how we went to the movies together and he paid. (It wasn't a date). However it was a nice feeling to know that a friend wanted to spend time together to see a good movie.

He filled my life cup. It was fun and made me feel better about my day and week. I've described friends as the holders to your pitchers for your cup. Everyone holds a pitcher and a straw. However, sometimes they don't realize that they are drinking from your life cup. Which really means they are draining you.

My mom has taken to the analogy recently. She realized that going on Facebook drain her cup, and does not fill it. For her she doesn't like the fact that people "brag, complain, and boast" on the website. I've mentioned this to her and she doesn't like it. We've had a few fights over it. (However when we fight I've described that as dumping out my cup)

When friends/family fight, you have to make sure that the other person is full when you apoligse. You don't want someone to be empty. Constantly make sure that friends cup is full or check to see if they need a refill.

So I tell you fill up your cups, and enjoy your day!

Cheers!

A whirl wind of adventures..

These last few days (wait weeks, months, oh wait I really mean summer) has been a whirl wind of adventures. I just finished up summer school on July 28th to be exact. Left for Wisconsin less than 24 hours later. Spent a week with my mom relaxing with my cousin at my her place. A nice way to recover from finals..

Well when I got home I was on full fun force. Spent time with friends, attended a few birthday shin-digs, crafting adventures, oh yes and there was this little thing called work.. So I’ve had back to back moments and days where I felt like I haven’t been able to breathe. But hey that’s life in full force right?

I got my hair done by a great friend in school.. To check out a bit of the color and HAIR CUT check out my other blog.. www.hanarie365.blogspot.com such a fun color and has a lot of spunk to it.

This last month I’ve felt like I’ve grown up. I don’t know if it is being back in class. I don’t know if it’s spending lots of time with great friends and having awesome conversations, house sitting and being on my own, or if it’s this special email I got from a sierra college counselor.. That looked a little something like this..

Hi Hanna,
I just wanted to let you know that you will be eligible for an AA degree in Liberal Arts and AA degree in Social Science at the end of the fall semester. Would you like me to submit the degree petition for you?

Student Development and Services
Sierra College

I jumped right on the email. I’m stoked So let’s say hello to a graduate of the class of 2011 and 2012(I still want to finish up my ECE Degree.).. I realise that I have to be on my A game the whole semester. But it feels great knowing I can see one of the stop light at this long tunnel of education. I know I’m on my right path and God has big plans for this young woman..

Did I mention I have a crazy schedule. I have just one class on Monday nights from 6-9pm. Then on Tuesdays I have class at 11am-6pm. Wednesdays are my night off!! Then back to my crazy Thursday Schedule, Class from 11am-9:30pm.. Class #1 from 11-12:20, Class number 2 from 2-5pm, then finally class number 3 from 6-9:30pm. Oh did I mention I have Fridays off.. Thank you Jesus for an open lab class..

Oh Mylanta!

I just signed up for a full load of classes for the Fall Semester, and 100% of them are Early Childhood Education Courses. Pray for me, I'm quiet nervous and I know these course will require a lot of me and I may have breaking points. Yet however, I know it will be tons of fun and it is one of my favorite passions.

I'm excited for the road ahead of me, and I know there are only a few steps ahead of me before graduating from Sierra and moving onto Sac State!

Thank you for being apart of my journey!

A Tragic Loss For Close Friends..

Yesterday before eating dinner, I read the news that a family friend had to say goodbye to a family dog.

It broke my heart, I had cared for their dog tinkerbelle many times, and I their children had been some of the best children I had ever cared for. (If you call my voice mail, it's Will voice you can hear asking you to leave a message.)

Well instantly I sent the mom a text message asking what happened. The dog had perished after getting electrocuted when chasing a ball in the pond behind their house. The youngest daughter had seen part of it happen but didn't realise what had happened. However it was a blessing in disguise, if a child had fallen in the water, the same might have happened and yet a much more tragic. However still, my prayers go out this week to the Ivey Family, and their sweet dog tinkerbelle.

To hear more about what happened check out this video.

One Month

Ok so I know my other Blog is about my changing of face and Hair.
But on here I wanted to show in One Month how appearance has changed.. (Pj's aside)

Tired eyes, New Pj's and New Bed and Sheets..

Hanna's Getting creative.. Do you like my new hat?!
I was feeling creative to prepare for my up coming procedure.
Oh look the last moments of my long curly locks..
I miss them..

New and sassy little hairdo.. Very cute when it was all in one piece..

My 2nd hair cut that month. I should mention that this picture was taken 2 days after surgery. Notice I didn't have to wear a turban this time.. I can tell now that my face was a bit swollen..

I am so happy now to see how much my hair has grown over a month.. I have loved to style it, but i do sometime miss the simplicity of putting my hair back in a pony and throwing a head band on it..
But, I should mention it is really nice to take less than 10 minute shower, and know that it will only take 3 to 5 minutes to blow dry my hair..
Thank you God, for healing & hair growth!

better than i expected to be..

The quote I've been constantly been hearing is.. "WOW! You look so much better than we expected you to be!"

Currently, I'm sitting up in bed, with a fully belly, just ate lunch and said goodbye to my aunt who stayed the weekend while I was in the hospital. She and my mom have been great motivation makers.

The hospital stay was interesting to say the least. I was the youngest patient on the floor and was the nicest and friendliest person to everyone. However, I'm sooo happy to be home. Have my own cable tv and can have my own request on foods to eat, a mom who now can get plenty of sleep when I'm not bugging her. haha.

Oh I should mention a few things about the surgery, so as many of you know I was having some of those really bad headaches, and pain on the right side of my cranium. Well this surgery was a somewhat voluntary (meaning it wasn't exactly needed, but requested by me). Well when the doctors went in they found more bone over my plate which was causing all of that pressure and pain over the past 3 years. (So good knowing I wasn't going crazy). Which meant that it took longer than anticipated for the surgery but everything went well.

On the same night I have my 2nd family (The Clements) come and visit me and brought me some love and care. I wasn't as puffy, had minimal grogginess. Now as for today, I am a bit groggy from some of the pain meds, and have swelled up a bit more..

Other than that today I'm looking forward to being creative and spending some quality time with my parent's when I'm not sleeping.

The First Cut Is Deepest...

And No, I'm not talking about the type of cutting that you are thinking about..

I'm talking about from this.....

To This...

Yes everyone, I cut close to ten inches off of my hair..

I'm not going to lie I literally cried when she did the first big snips, The kind of snips that really hack into hair.. I was ok at first but then I just started to tear up. It was real this surgery is really going to happen, and I guess I really do have big emotions to my hair.

A woman's hair is one of the most important thing to them, it is her crowning glory. I guess you could say it is my own crowning glory. I like my new hair a lot but it's going to take some getting used to.. I guess you could say, "It's the Start of Something New"..

Inspired..

I was restoring my ipod today, and I was browsing my itunes, and came across this worship song from about 2003/2004. And it really just touched my heart, I felt like it was just God touching my heart personally and embracing me. This will be the start of my blogs for the year of 2011. I'm excited to share pictures, embrace feelings, and bring in the new year in a fun new way! So Cheers to a brand new year! And many blessings sent your way!

Best and worst trait about me while watching movies...

I've come to the conclusion I have a problem....

My parents love and hate this when watching movies with me... I will tell them amazing facts about the movie. Like where it was filmed, when it was filmed, errors in the movie. And sometimes my worst feature I have spoiled the ending.
It's so tempting. With my ipod touch I just google the name and start reading. If it's a really good movie and I'm into it I don't even have it by my side, and if I'm getting bored but want to find out more so I can jump back it. I will use the two sites to find out more.
The last three movies I've watched this weekend I have done it. It's finally a reality to me.
Well what is your guys opinion. Stop doing it, only occasionally, or keep it going?
